“There is joy in everything I do.”

Joy in doing, joy in being, joy in communication, 360 degrees of joy, 365 days a year. Impossible? Maybe. That’s why I push a little harder and make JOY my daily motivation and intention. Spreading joy, radiating joy, bringing joy – joy as the SOURCE of my existence.

Joy has absolute priority in everything I do. I take joy – my joy absolutely seriously.
“Take your pleasure seriously” (Charles Eames)

I find joy in the smallest and most common things, such as making an Excel spreadsheet nice or pulling a thread through the eye of a needle. In big and complex tasks like developing a design concept for a series of events or visualizing the communication and work process of a multinational project team with just one crystal clear chart.

Joy can be loud and flashy. Most of the time, joy is quiet and discreet. How else could it be felt on a daily basis?

My understanding as a designer
I don’t see myself just as a designer in what I do. I am always a craftswoman, materials expert, project manager, implementer and leader at the same time.
For me, design is the harmonious and, when appropriate, the disharmonious interaction of form, color, function, affordability and responsibility. Ideally, all of this together develops a lasting impact on all people who come into direct and indirect contact with my creations.

“I don’t know how to do it yet – but I will soon”
If I don’t know how to do something, I plan a little more time for it and learn how to do it.

My implementation strength as a project manager and consultant
I have developed and built brands for FORTUNE 500 companies such as OLYMPUS, SONY, PHILIPS and managed international communication strategies and campaigns. I have designed and implemented the entire communications area for start-ups and small companies.

In addition to designing marketing communications, my second major strength is developing and managing processes and change management projects. In this area, I particularly enjoy getting everyone involved on board and getting them excited about the new.

I allocate ample time to learn new things: preferably at workshops, hands-on with other wonderful people.
